About me

I am the author of a humorous southern mystery series:
Book 1: Murder & Mayhem In Goose Pimple Junction
Book 2: Heroes & Hooligans in Goose Pimple Junction, Book 3: Short & Tall Tales in Goose Pimple Junction
Book 4: Rogues & Rascals in Goose Pimple Junction
Book 5: Liars & Lunatics in Goose Pimple Junction

As an indie author, I know how hard it is to get your name and your book out there. So I started this blog in the hopes of helping other authors promote their work. In the South, "a blue million" means a lot of something, or an infinite amount. I think the saying comes from the word "blue" being used sometimes to strengthen words, as in "blue blazes," or "talk a blue streak," or . . . "a blue million."

I live in Louisville, Kentucky, where we have a campaign called, “Keep Louisville Weird.” That’s simply a catchy way of saying support local business. McDonald's and Applebee's are everywhere, but it’s the local businesses that give a city uniqueness and flavor. Local businesses are usually small businesses, with limited capital and resources. Not unlike indie authors.

So I've started my own campaign called, “Authors Are Weird Too.” Everybody has heard of John Sandford, Michael Connelly, and Patricia Cornwall. They’re doing just fine on their own, thank you very much. But it’s the new authors, especially the new indie authors who need support. I hope to do that on this blog. Sadly, I don't do reviews anymore, but if you’d like to be interviewed or would like to do a guest blog, contact me at authoramymetz@yahoo.com and we’ll talk. And if you’re John Sandford, Michael Connelly, or Patricia Cornwall, I’d love to talk to you as well. ツ

I'll say it again—I do not do book reviews. For news, interviews, reviews of my books, and to find out about my work, please go to: http://authoramymetz.com.

I'D LOVE TO FEATURE YOU

Type to me at: authoramymetz@yahoo.com if you'd like to promote your book(s) in an interview or a guest post on A Blue Million Books.

Together, they’re scaring the living daylights out of the residents and keeping the new police chief busier than a set of jumper cables at a redneck picnic. Suddenly, he has his hands full trying to apprehend a killer, stop a stalker, and fight his feelings for the damsel in distress.

Rogues & Rascals in Goose Pimple Junction

Like any good Southern belle, Caledonia Culpepper was raised by her mama to be gracious, charming, witty, and above all, a devoted mother and loving wife, so she's baffled when her marriage falls apart.

Wynona Baxter is a master of disguise but is often a ditzy airhead. A hit woman wannabe, when she's hired for her first job in Goose Pimple Junction and things don't go as planned, she's forced to resort to Plan B. She'll also need Plan C and D.

Crooked lawyers, restless husbands, a teenaged hoodlum–it seems there are rogues and rascals everywhere you look in Goose Pimple Junction.

When Caledonia and Wynona's paths cross, they prove there isn't a rogue or a rascal who can keep a good woman down. Mama always said there would be days like this . . .

Liars & Lunatics in Goose Pimple Junction

It's election season, and there's a new candidate in town. Virgil Pepper is determined to take the job from Goose Pimple Junction's long-time mayor. Virgil is a charming and
charismatic candidate but someone who will say anything (and mean none of it)
to get what he wants. Three things top his list: to become mayor, to acquire Jackson
Wright's land, and to make Caledonia Culpepper one of his many conquests.

Wynona Baxter is back, and she's a new woman. Now Daisy has a new identity, new life,
and new business-ironically named Killer Cupcakes. But the town soon finds out that
isn't the only kind of killer in town. Book five of the Goose Pimple Junction mystery series
combines political hijinks, delicious cupcakes, Goose Juice moonshine, the ups and downs
of finding true love, and, of course, murder.

It is said that "It's a basic truth of the human condition that everybody lies. The only
variable is about what." Lying in politics, lying for personal and professional gain,
lying about an identity . . . What are the folks of Goose Pimple Junction willing to
lie for . . . and what are they willing to die for?

  1. Amy, I like this bit about keeping your community "Weird." It's a shame the uniqueness and charm of everywhere is swamped by same thing, different address.

    1. Thanks, Bob. I agree. It's better to be a Fruit Loop than a Cheerio!
